A CMS organizes content; remote management observes and controls devices. Some platforms combine both, but you should verify them separately. For a multi-site network, test permissions, scheduling, offline caching, alerts and recovery. Ask for a demonstration of failures as well as playback when everything works.
What to look at first
Define who creates, approves and publishes. Document what a local site can do and what the central team controls. Review licensing costs, content export and access when the contract ends. A remote screenshot or a playback log does not by itself prove that a visitor saw the message.
Three questions for your project
- What does the player retain without a network?
- Who receives an alert and when do they act?
- How does data leave if the provider changes?
One step you can take today
Walk through the site with the operations team. Gather real content samples, reading positions and maintenance conditions. Use the related guides to document requirements and the workshop to organize what is known and what is pending.
